Therapists

Matthew Smith
PT, DPT

Matt's approach to physical therapy mirrors his approach to life: Matt is a teacher. He loves learning. And he loves sharing his knowledge with others.

After earning his Bachelor degree from Albertson College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho, he pursued his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at The University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. Between his studies he discovered SCUBA diving and soon became a certified SCUBA Diving Instructor. To counterbalance this warm weather sport he also volunteered during the winter as a ski instructor for a program called Ski-for-All, teaching kids with disabilities how to downhill ski. While in Tacoma, Matt met the love of his life, Samantha. When looking for a place to call home Matt was drawn back to Idaho where he and Samantha have joined the RehabAuthority team.

Matt loves the Idaho outdoor life with hiking, fishing, skiing, SCUBA diving, horseback riding as well as participating and instructing (always teaching) martial arts. But his professional passion comes from working with his patients to regain, rebuild and recover so they can Feel Good Again!

Heather Henderson
PT, DPT

Heather was born in Provo, Utah and moved to Pocatello, Idaho where she attended grade school. She moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where she graduated from Skyline High School in 2000. Here she played basketball and softball and unfortunately injured her knee and was unable to continue to play sports. Instead, Heather participated in the Sports Medicine Program at Skyline where she fell in love with helping people recover from injuries.

As she participated in her own knee rehabilitation, Heather decided to pursue a career in physical therapy. While obtaining her B.S. in Zoology from Idaho State University, she worked in a variety of physical therapy settings to gain experience and knowledge in this medical field she loved so much. Heather graduated in 2006. She then earned her DPT from Idaho State University in 2009. Heather was a diligent member of the Student Physical Therapy Association and a dedicated Fundraiser Chairperson on the board.

Heather currently works in the Nampa RehabAuthority clinic as a Physical Therapist. She is eager to begin a long and fulfilling career helping people and continuing her own knowledge and experience.
